Everybody has a fishing story but at Northland Loge
on Leech Lake this week a guess while taking a
nap who left his fishing line hanging over the boat
caught a 3 pound northern thanks to mike the dock
boy at Northland Lodge who saw the fishing pole
being pulled out of the boat landed the fish and
cleaned it up for the napping guess. You mite say
the fish were jumping in the boat at Northland Lodge
almost true as guiding out of Northland Lodge
this week for a great couple from Indiana Bob and
Barb who caught a Limit of walleyes and jumbo perch
to take home plus three nights of a home cooked
walleye perch delight fresh from Leech Lake.
The Big Lake was hot this week for catching of
walleye from trophy size to eaten size right in the
shadow of Spirit of the North Resort to Northland
Lodge Resort where in my guess minds will make for
allot of Leech Lake memories.
The Weather has been crazy but the fishing and even
better the catching has been fantastic all week,
even heard about two huge muskies caught while
fishing for walleyes and if a certain guide was a
better netter we would be talking about a ten pound
northern who did not get netted and about a eight
pound northern who broke free from a certain guides
stinger.
Leech Lake is Hot, and now would be a good time to
make reservations soon to get in on this great
fishing. You can call the Walker chamber at
800-833-1118 or call Anderson's Northland Lodge at
800-247 1719 for a great fishing vacation.
The Walleye bite was fantastic in front of the
Spirit of the North Resort harbor this week when the
wind was blowing but good reports were still coming
from the Hardwoods area or the Meadows and from the
potage bay area. A minnow and a jig were still the
best but a jig tipped with a leech was also a good
presentation. I also ran into some folks who were
doing great on night crawlers on a lindy rig.
I hope you can make a trip to Leech Lake and to
Walker the City on the Bay that has it all and give
the Coach a call on the marine radio channel 88 or
contact the Walker chamber for fishing guides
services you on the lake.
